COMPOSITE LIST FROM ALL 11 EDITIONS:
There are (as of Oct 2014) 5 different published hardback editions & 11 different published paperback editions of the book --- not including 2004 "reprints" of the 2003 hardback & paperback versions (which included 2 deletions/2 additions to the 2003 list).
This list is a composite of all 11/12 published/reprinted versions of the "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" book - from the 1st Edition Hardback/Paperback (both 2003) to the most recent 11th Edition Paperback published in 2014.
In addition to minor and major changes between the 5 hard back edition and annual softback editions - there are also occasionally minor differences between the US & UK versions of the same book.
It has been noted by fans of the books who have done side-by-side/page-by-page comparisons of all the books to establish cumulative lists of all of the films within the books that there are often major errors within the Table of Contents of the books.
The most recently published edition from 2014 include 9 films from 2013 (Nebraska, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Wolf of Wall Street, Gravity, Blue Is the Warmest Color, American Hustle, The Great Beauty, A Touch of Sin, 12 Years a Slave).
Films from 2014 will be included in a not yet published 2015 edition.

ORIGINAL TEXT FROM WIKIA (http://1001films.wikia.com/wiki/The_Books) -----> "The first edition of the 1,001 Movies You Must See Before You Die book was published in 2003. It listed 1,001 films from 1902 to 2002 (1,003 actually because of the combined entries for Olympia 1 and 2 and Ivan the Terrible 1 and 2). Since then a new edition has been published every following year. Each of these new editions has added some new movies and removed some old ones in order to maintain the 1,001 total. Below you will find information on each of these editions, a complete list of all movies added and removed, and a list of the ninety-two (92) net changes to the original 1,001 Movies.
"There have been hardcover editions published by Barron's Educational Series of New York State in 2003 (1st edition), 2004 (reprint of 1st edition, but with a couple changes), 2005 (2nd edition), 2008 (3rd edition), 2011 (4th edition), and 2013 (5th Edition). There have been paperback editions published by Cassell Illustrated of London every year since 2003. Cassell's 2004 edition was a reprint of the 2003 edition and no changes were made. According to a comment at the bottom, the paperback editions were not exactly in sync with the hardcover editions in the first couple of years of changes. The information presented for each book below is based on the hardcover editions, for each year that one was published, and the paperback editions for all other years. The latest (2014 edition) was released only in paperback by Cassell (UK)."
