Once upon a time there was a ball bearing, and the ball bearing was brand new and shiny and did not know what the world was like. The ball bearing was put into a wheel joint thing, and there were other ball bearings in there, and the ball bearing said, "Hi!" but the other ball bearings didn't say anything, because they aren't in this story.

By and by, a glop of grease was squirted on the ball bearing, and the ball bearing said, "Hey watch it, you got me all greasy," and the glop of grease said, "I'm sorry," and the ball bearing felt bad and said, "Oh, that's ok."

By the by, all of a sudden, the wheel started to spin, and it went around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around, faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster, and the ball bearing said, "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" and laughed and laughed and had lots of fun and got motion sick and threw up but still had a really great time. The glop of grease got warm and spread out, as glops of grease will do, and also had a great time and rocked it with the ball bearing for a long time, and sometimes the wheel would stop for a while, and they'd laugh and laugh, and then it would start again, and they would go, "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"

And so the glop of grease burned all up, and the ball bearing cried and cried, because he had grown quite fond of the glop of grease, and the glop of grease had grown quite fond of the ball bearing, though not anymore, because the glop of grease was dead and wasn't fond of anything anymore, and the ball bearing said, "I miss my friend very much," and suddenly a new glop of grease got squirted onto the ball bearing, and the ball bearing said, "Hey watch it, you got me all greasy!" and the glop of grease said, "I'm sorry," and the ball bearing felt bad and said, "Oh, that's ok," only it wasn't, because he missed his friend, the first glop of grease.

Well then the wheel began to spin, and that cheered the ball bearing up, because he said, "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" and had a good time, and the glop of grease said, "Whoa, this is fun!" and got all warm and spread out, as glops of grease will do, and the ball bearing remembered his friend, the first glop of grease, and became alarmed and said, "Hey, second glop of grease, my friend the first glop of grease was in here with me when the wheel was spinning, and he burned up and died!" and the second glop of grease said, "!" and the ball bearing said, "Quick, escape from here, before it's too late for you too!" and the second glop of grease said, "Ok, thanks!" and got the heck out of there.

Well, the wheel spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun and spun around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around, faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster and faster, and by and by the ball bearing said, "Ow!" because it was getting harder and harder to spin with the wheel, and he started to get abrasions and pressure marks and got really hot and stiff, and finally he said, "Urk!" and got smashed into nothing and died, and he reflected before he died, "If I hadn't saved the second glop of grease, perhaps I would have lived."

Meanwhile, the second glop of grease was sipping a tropical fruit drink with a little umbrella in it and enjoying the ocean breeze, and it would have thought, "I feel terrible that the ball bearing died because I saved myself," only it didn't, because it never knew that the ball bearing died, so it had a clear conscience. And so the second glop of grease didn't learn that day that if you kill someone, it's best just not to think about it.
