The Kitten Who Got Stuck In the Tree

Once upon a time there was a kitten, and the kitten climbed a tree, and the kitten could not get down from the tree. So the kitten meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed.

By and by, a little girl walked by, and the little girl said, "Hello, kitten," and the kitten said, "Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow," which meant, "Help me get out of this tree." And the little girl said, "Sorry, I'm not tall enough," and went on her way.

Well, the kitten was very sad, and the kitten meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed.

By and by, an old man walked by, and the old man said, "Hello, kitten," and the kitten said, "Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow," which meant, "Help me get out of this tree." And the old man said, "Sorry, I'm not young enough," and went on his way.

Soon the kitten started to get hungry, and the kitten meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed.

By and by, a nervous looking man walked by, and the nervous looking man said, "Hello, kitten," only in a shaky voice, and the kitten said, "Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow," which meant, "Cuss it all, get me the heck out of this stupid tree." And the nervous looking man said, "Sorry, I'm not not scared of kittens enough," and went on his way.

Soon the kitten got cold and shivered in the fading light of the day, because it was the end of the day, so the light of the day was fading, and it started to get cold, and the kitten meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed.

By and by, a tall woman walked by, and the tall woman said, "Hello, kitten," only in a tall voice, and the kitten said, "Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow," which meant, "Please, please, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help me out of this stinkin' tree!" And the tall woman said, "Sorry, I'm not not allergic to kittens enough," and went on her way.

So the kitten jumped out of the tree.

The kitten said, "That was a big jump, but I did it, and I'm mostly not hurt," and the tree said, "Good job," and the kitten said, "I didn't know you could talk," and the tree said, "You didn't ask," and the kitten said, "Why didn't you help me out of yourself?" and the tree said, "You didn't ask," and the kitten learned a very valuable lesson that day, which is to ask things that don't talk if they can talk, just in case they can.

And the tree, which didn't have kitten claws in it anymore, lived happily ever after.
