Goa Help blacksmith

I am back to where I ended on my last game that got lost. Now the problem I have is going into the blacksmith and having him make me that certian item I need. I can only get a sword or armor which is not a possibility at the moment. Am I missing something that I need to continue. I am totally lost. Here are the items that I have.

20 Bronze Coins
Guard's Sword
Tinderbox
Crate
Picture

9 Red Gemstones
Stone of Strengthening
Torch
Hammer

1 Black Gemstone
Food Rations
Key of Opening
Map

6 Apples
Rope
Clear Focus Stone
Magnifying Glass
