I'm still trying to understand why you seem so eager to be combatant, that observation being based on this and other posts. That aside, I didn't say you disliked him because he was popular. (In fact, I didn't say anything about you, in particular, not liking Stephen King's body of work because you don't appear to be enjoying this one movie.)
*That* aside, too, the post to which I originally responded specifically said the author "thought it was common knowledge Stephen King's work was contrived pap..." On the contrary, the "common" opinion seems to be the opposite, if you look at Stephen King's popularity. Yes, I was lamenting the enthusiam with which certain pop culture is disdained simply for being able to appeal to so many. I certainly don't seem to be the only one who has noticed the tendency.
