Well, personally I don't really bash at all, but I have a rather low opinion of most (that word is important) pop music not merely because it's popular, but because I *know* there's better (judging not only by my own taste, but also by technique and stuff) music that took more effort and skill that isn't rewarded as it should. Concerning Stephen King: what I've read of his books hasn't scared me (I prefer Bierce, Smith or Lovecraft for that), and I don't like his style of writing, but other than that I don't know enough about him to judge him.
