The Academy Awards Predictions Game consists of two separate games each year, one to predict the nominees in the top Oscar categories, and the other to predict the winners in all categories. The winner of the game is the one to have successfully predicted the most Academy Award nominees/winners.
Just pick a nickname and password and attempt to log in with it. If you want to come back and revise your guesses, just supply the same nickname and password.
It's just too difficult to try to include all possible nominations on the contest form, and it's too difficult to tabulate entry forms that allow write-in guesses. All categories will be included on the winners contest form, however.
The winners contest form has all nominees on it. But it's impractical to include all eligible nominees on the nominations contest form, so only the most likely candidates for each category are included. This leaves open the possibility that the contest form won't even contain an eventual nominee. If that happens, nobody gets the point, so it's all fair. However, nominations contest forms may be revised for games in progress with the addition of initially unforeseen likely candidates, so it's best to doublecheck your guesses toward the end of the contest period to make sure they are what you truly wish them to be.
In that case, your guess is counted as an incorrect guess, and you don't get any credit for it. Therefore this possibility must be kept in mind when selecting choices for the Best Actor and Best Actress categories. Every effort is made to keep unequivocally supporting roles out of the Best Actor and Best Actress categories, but sometimes there's no way to tell what the Academy might do.
As of the 2006 games, tiebreaker questions will be asked. They will only be considered to break ties between players -- that is, when multiple players have correctly guessed the same number of nominations/wins. Ties are broken in favor of the player who gets closest to the answer of the first question. If multiple players answer the tiebreaker question correctly, or are off by an equal amount, then and only then is the answer to the second question considered, and so on.
Not every game has a prize associated with it. Check the News information to see if a prize is listed for the game. Here are the details about winning prizes.
